One of the most beautiful examples of baroque architecture is certainly the Eltz Castle in Vukovar.
It is located on the banks of the Danube river with a facade facing the park and the river. It was built in 1751 and gradually upgraded to today’s proportions.
During the War for Independence, it became the first building in Vukovar to be bombed from the air. It was demolished almost to its foundations and was rebuilt at the beginning of the 21st century.
Today there is the Museum of the City of Vukovar in castle.
